Converting CAM films to AVI using 'Fast Movie Processor©'

Version 1.01-2000 © copyright 2000 =RAF=™

First, you must locate your AW main directory...
You can do this by opening your game application; click on 'setup,' the main directory path will be listed in the space provided.

Once you have located your AW main directory you will need to locate the screen shots taken during film playback from within AW. The screen shots are saved to the default file format .dib  (.Dib files can be opened with MS-Paint, provided as an accessory in all versions of windows©; providing you installed it along with windows.)

Now that we have familiarized ourselves with the file formats used in creating films, screen shots, and locating default directories, we will get started creating and converting our film...

1. Open your AW main directory* (using windows explorer), delete any .dib files found in the main directory (example: c:\gamestrm\airwar3).
2. Execute AW; choose the film you wish to convert to AVI ... During film playback you will use the F10 key to capture/save your screen shots to the AW main directory in .dib format. Holding down on the F10 key though the section of film you wish to convert will net the best results. This will save about 10 frames per second to your AW directory. After you are comfortable with screen captures, and, converting them to AVI using the FMP program, you will want to be creative while executing your screen shots; remember, with the playback options built into AW, you can also playback your films in 'outside' view mode.
3. After you have captured the desired section of film, you will want to exit AW and open your Fast Movie Processor© (FMP) program.
4. After you open FMP choose the 'non commercial use' option. (read the license info before choosing this option.)
5. Select input; add file.
6. Browse to your AW game directory.
7. You will see a list of .dib files (these usually start with the file, '0001.dib'), you only need to choose the first .dib file in the directory. Click OK!
8. Now you will need to give your new file a name. Choose output; select file. Now, in the space provided, give your new film a name (example: great fight.AVI). By default, most new files will be saved into your windows, 'my documents' directory.
9. Now that you have named your new film you will want to select some options for it.
10. Select View; play output preview. By clicking on the 'settings' option, you will be able to adjust frame rates and resize your film using the options listed.
11. Once you have the film the way you like it you can click on the Start button. The program will now create/convert your new film!
12. After processing is complete you will want to review your film using your windows media player, as it projects the best playback.
