=RAF=™ Preflight Checklist:

Standard Operating Procedure [SOP]

 

1. Log into your arena
2. Upon arrival (Officers' Club) check the roster for fellow squad members.
3. Go to Head Quarters; Radio Room--check for current Ops. and Location of your fellow squad members. (The object here is to takeoff from the best possible location, with the type of aircraft and weaponry that's currently needed.)
4. Check the 'Choose a field' Map to see if any enemy markers show in or around the sector you expect to takeoff from. (never up from a CAPPED base).
5. Once on the tarmac, tune your radio to squad frequency (ch. 21--esc+T21, then enter).
6. On squad frequency, (use the "/" key to transmit) transmit your departure location, your type of aircraft, and, whether or not you have bombs aboard. (this is very helpful to the pilots that are already up and in the fight).
7. Takeoff ... do not exceed the maximum rate of climb for your aircraft--know it's rate-of-climb (ROC), if you're not sure ask one of the Vet's!
8. Inquire as to the exact location and altitude of any e/a flying in the area. (any of your fellow Squadies will be more than happy to call them out).
9. Head in a safe direction until you reach an altitude at least as high as the highest reported e/a in the area.
10. Go get some!
