Flight Formations
Subject: Formation of flights and Flight Leaders. To: All =RAF=™ Pilots (RR Pacific Wings) Effective: 21-Feb-99, 13:10:31.
1. Flight number one, hereinafter to be know as Alpha Flight <A> will be lead by =000= <CO> of the squadron. Each Pilot assigned to this flight will add the <A> insignia to their handles to identify them with this flight. This will be a Corsair, F4U-1 flight! 2. Flight number two, hereafter to be know as Bravo Flight <FLB> will be lead by =000=, who will be assigned the new squadron position of Flight Leader <FL>. Each Pilot assigned to this flight will add the <B> insignia to their handles to identify them with this flight. This will be a Hellcat, F6F-3 and Corsair, F4U-1 flight! 3. Flight number three, hereinafter to be know as Charlie Flight <FLC> will be lead by =000=, who will be assigned the new squad position of Flight Leader <FLC>. Each Pilot assigned to this flight will add the <C> insignia to their handles to identify them with this flight. This will be a Mixed aircraft, multiple role flight! 4. Flight number four, hereinafter to be know as Delta Flight <FLD> will be lead by =000=, who will be assigned the new squad position of Flight Leader <FL>. Each Pilot assigned to this flight will add the <D> insignia to their handles to identify them with this flight. This will be a Carrier borne flight, consisting of TBFs, B25s, and Spitfires! 5. Flight number five, hereinafter to be know as Echo Flight as been designated as an honorary flight -- assigned to the pilots and command of the 13th SAS! a. Each flight will consist of 4 (more if roster permits) pilots, including the Flight Leader <FL> b. Each flight will be assigned one 13th SAS Pilot (to be named) which they will protect anytime the 13th Pilot is up! The 13th Pilot is your ticket to whatever you need accomplished during your sorties... "Keep him alive!" c. Each flight will be assigned it's own Radio freq. <A> flight Ch. 21, <B> flight, Ch. 22, <C> flight, Ch.23, <D> flight, Ch. 24. Ch. 21 will be command freq. and will be used by Flight Leaders to hold communication with command flight <A>. All Flight Pilots will use Ch. 2 <CZ>, and, their flight's assigned freq. only! Ch. 21 will only be used by Flight Leaders, and =RAF=, and, 13th SAS Command! d. Each Flight Leader will be responsible for training the pilots within their flight as to missions, aircraft, and the such. e. Each flight will be assigned a specific mission for the type of aircraft in their flight.
f. If you have a preference as to which flight or flight leader you want to be attached to, now is the time to speak up ... Otherwise you will be assigned to the flight, and, Flight Leader of my choosing. This new format will better enable us to deal with any and all missions we will encounter. It will keep us organized, and, enable us to be 100% effective in dealing with the enemy!
